Meet our Doctors:
Roger Ortiz, DDS
Dr. Roger Ortiz was born and raised in El Paso. He graduated from Austin High School and obtained his Biological Science Degree at Texas Western College (UTEP). He received his Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) Degree from the University of Texas-Dental Branch Houston. He is married, his son and daughter are both practicing dentist, and has two grandchildren.
He is a member of the El Paso District Dental Society, Texas Dental Association (Life Member), American Dental Association (Life Member) and is a Fellow in the American College of Dentist.
In his past times, he enjoys travel, tennis, UTEP athletics and keeping up with the grand kids.
In 2018, Dr. Roger Ortiz announced his retirement from the practice of Dentistry.
Unfortunately, Dr. Roger Ortiz passed away in 2020, but his memory will always be with us.
Roger Michael Ortiz, DDS
Dr. Roger Michael Ortiz (Dr. Michael as he is known in the office), was born in Houston, Texas, January 1, 1961. Soon after his birth, the family moved back to El Paso, where he has called home since 1962. He attended and graduated from Morehead Elementary (K-8th), and Coronado High School in 1979. After attending U.T.E.P. for a year, he completed his college education at Texas A & M University in 1985 with a degree in Biological Science. He completed his dental education in 1989 at the University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio Dental School, where he graduated on the Dean's List with a degree in Dentistry (D.D.S.).
The same year of his dental school graduation, he married his long time girlfriend which he had met at Texas A & M University. She to graduated an Aggie, but furthermore, also graduated from the Texas A & M University School of Veterinary Medicine (D.V.M.). Sharon and Dr. Michael were married September 16, 1989. She is employed at the Crossroads Animal Hospital in the upper valley. They have 2 wonderful kids, Cory and Michael. Cory graduated from Texas Tech University, Texas Tech University School of Physical Therapy and now practices Physical Therapy in the Dallas area. Meanwhile, Michael graduated from Texas A & M University, University of San Antonio Health Science Center Dental School and now is referred to as Captain Michael K. Ortiz, DDS. He is extending his services to United States Army.
Dr. Michael started as an associate, in his father's downtown practice, in 1989, and has been there ever since.
Dr. Michael is an active member of the American Dental Association, Texas Dental Association (where he has held the position of Delegate and Alternate Delegate to the state of Texas), El Paso District Dental Association (where he has held all office positions including President), Seattle Study Club-El Paso Chapter, on staff at Sierra-Providence Hospitals, participated in the Texas Mission of Mercy-El Paso, actively participates in dental evaluations of troops being deployed out of El Paso, and is a member of St. Lukes Catholic Church.
In his spare time, he enjoys hanging out with his family, snow skiing, hunting, fishing, camping, playing basketball and enjoying UTEP sports.
